Australia
Australia is a phenomenal place to visit. At every turn the vistas take your breath away and leave one asking if it can possibly get any better? And then the next stunning vista delights. A true photographers nirvana!

"Bicheno Morning" Bicheno, Tasmania, Australia. A long exposure using a neutral density filter was used to turn some fairly large waves into milky smooth water.

"Smokey Mountains" Mount Wellington, Tasmania, Australia. This is a mountain in the Southeast of Tasmania, Australia. It is the summit of the Wellington Range and is within Wellington Park reserve. Hobart, Tasmania's capital city, is located at the foot of the mountain. Hiking up Mount Wellington gave us a great view overlooking the hills surrounding Hobart. Bush fires had been burning and the smoke for the fires was low in the sky - making the hills below look enormous.

"Boathouse" Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia. The iconic Dove Lake boathouse can't be missed when hiking at Cradle Mountain. The weather on this occasion was brutal - rain combined with wet snow and about 2 degrees C - in early March! The rain had just pulled back leaving the mist hanging down the mountain.

"Cradle Mountain Waterfall" Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia. It had been raining heavily during a hike at Cradle Mountain, which increased the water flowing down the mountain. The rain seemed to bring out the colours in the mountainside providing spectacular scenery as we scrambled along the creek.

"The Coathanger" Sydney, Australia. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel arch that crosses the harbour. You can climb the bridge with an organized tour that takes you right to the top of the bridge - a great view! A neutral density filter combined with the blue hour light after sunset enabled me to turn the water silky smooth.

"Great Ocean Road" Victoria, Australia. The Great Ocean Road runs along the coast of SE Australia. There are spectacular views all along the road with many cliffs and beaches below. The clouds opened up at the right moment for me and the sun brought out the beautiful colour of the ocean.

"Twelve Apostles" Victoria, Australia. The twelve (seven remain standing) apostles are a collection of magnificent rock stacks off the spectacular Great Ocean Road in SE Australia. The cliffs are ~250 feet high to put the size of the rock stacks in perspective.
"Uluru or Ayers Rock" Northern Territory, Australia. Uluru is a massive sandstone rock in the centre of Australia. It is somewhat like an iceberg with the biggest portion of the rock below ground. Rain two days earlier resulted in the brush coming to life. While standing at the base of Uluru, a brown snake (highly venomous) slithered between my feet as I was absorbed by the beauty of the rock. Unexpectedly exciting!
