New Releases
This collection includes photographs that have been taken in the last few months. It is regularly refreshed to include new and interesting images.

"Moon Rising", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. I missed this shot the previous night by a few minutes, so I was very pleased to be ready in time for this shot. This was the last Supermoon of 2023, so it helped to make the moon appear to be extra large and bright.

"Peggy's Cove" Nova Scotia, Canada. A road trip to Nova Scotia resulted in both an enjoyable holiday and some time for photography. During the visit to Peggy's Cove, I was fortunate to have the fog roll in which created a very pleasing photo environment.

"Peggy's Cove Lighthouse", Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. This active lighthouse is an iconic Canadian image. It is a beautiful spot with its wind swept granite rocks smoothed by thousands of years of wind and pounding ocean waves. The fog on this occasion and the heavy surf helped to reinforce the importance of a lighthouse for the local fishermen.

"Muskoka Power", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada.

"Duck Bath", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada.

"Duck Iridescent Blue", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. This blue wing patch on the female mallard was pretty spectacular.

"Fall Is Coming!", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. These cool mornings mean only one thing - fall will be here soon!

"Wild One", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. I spent most of the summer trying to get a shot of a loon and eventually got lucky. Hearing a loon's call, especially at night, really makes it feel like one is in the wilderness.

"Blue Dawn" Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. A very early morning enabled me to capture this image. The mist was a bonus.

"Take My Breath Away", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Shot on a very early morning visit to Algonquin Park. It's tough getting up at 4:30am, but on this occasion it was worthwhile.

"King", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. I had been looking for a shot of a moose with a huge rack for a while and was lucky to come across this one deep in Algonquin Park. The antlers must have been 4-5 feet wide. I was very pleased he didn't think I was a threat!

"Bigwin", Dorset, Ontario, Canada. The S.S Bigwin dates back to 1925 and is based in Dorset. I went to Dorset several times to catch the morning fog.

"The Tree", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. Dawn at this time of the year in Muskoka is sensational. The sun lighting up the fog, and the spectacular colours of the leaves is fantastic. Searching for the right location was challenging but ultimately proved rewarding. The colour of this tree perched on the edge of the river got more intense as the fog slowly burned off and the sun lit up the tree.

"Sugar Maple", Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. I took this on a bike trip in the Haliburton Highlands so I'd be able to easily stop and shoot whatever caught my eye. This one caught my attention as it isn't often I've seen such vivid red.

"Country Lane", Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. They say timing is everything. That was certainly true in this case as the colour of the leaves had changed the next day and the fallen leaves started to turn brown.

"Algonquin Dawn", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada.

"Moose!", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. I was very fortunate to be close enough to the moose to capture such a shot.

"Dorset Dawn", Dorset, Ontario, Canada. The cool mornings in the fall often creates perfect conditions for fog coming off the water in "cottage country".

"Forest ICM", Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. This photo technique is called intentional camera movement - in this case moving the camera with the lens pointed high in the trees to low - with the shutter open. It isn't for everyone, but variety ... And fun for the photographer.

"Stubb's Falls" Arrowhead Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. This photo was taken early in the fall at Arrowhead Provincial Park. A long exposure helped to capture the movement of the water.

"Spot Light", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. An example of being at the right place at the right time. The morning sun shining through the mist looks good to me, wherever it's shing.

"Full Lunar Eclipse". The lunar eclipse was pretty stunning on November 8, 2022! I'm glad I caught it as the next full eclipse isn't until 2025.

"Spot Light II", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. An example of being at the right place at the right time. The morning sun shining through the mist looks good to me wherever it’s shining.

"Fall Colour", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. During an early morning hike I was able to capture this image a little after the sun rose. The angle of the sun made the fall colours "pop"!

"Big", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. This shot was taken from a ridge overlooking the vast forest in Algonquin Park. The view really brings to mind the size of the Park.

"Alone", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. The leaves were dropping like snow in a blizzard when I spotted this lone sugar maple leaf in the midst of a sea of yellows.

"Misty", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Being rewarded with mist rising off the water in the fall makes getting up well before dawn very worthwhile!

"Gentle Roar", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. The colour and light on this shoot was absolutely stunning! I just couldn’t get any better!

"Rush", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. The water and colour of the leaves left me speechless.

"Silver and Gold", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. I was very pleased I had decided to make multiple visits to these rapids. Each time they were better than the time before. Mother nature at her best.

"Maple Delight", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. The leaves on this branch virtually leapt out at me, the colour was so vivid. The early morning light helped to bring out the red and contrast it with the water.

"Hardwood Lookout Trail", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. A short hike had a surprisingly good view at the top - where the colour of the trees was at the peak.

"Silhouette at Dawn", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. A shot taken in the Haliburton Highlands in the fall. Getting up early to photograph the wilderness is tough, but I always return pleased I made the effort. Mother nature is always good to me!

"Gold Rush", Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. This shot was taken on the Track and Tower Trail in Algonquin Park. I used a long exposure to smooth the water movement.

"Rising Mist", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. Getting up early can pay off with some good shooting opportunities. This one was taken in the early fall when the morning mist seems pretty frequent.

"Fall ICM", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. This was taken using a photography technique called intentional camera movement. The shutter is held open and the camera is deliberately moved to capture the colour and not the detail.

"Snowmaageddon", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. After almost a metre of snow in a few days, the tree branches were completely covered.

"Snow Bumps", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. After almost a metre of snow in a few days, the rocks along the shoreline looked like old VW’s.

"Winter Wonderland", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. After almost a metre of snow in a few days, the snow covered trees and rocks along this river were stunning.

"Big Blue", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. I returned to this location a number of times to ensure I captured the snow when it was the perfect colour for a late December day. I love the contrast between the snow and the almost black water.

"Beautiful Snow", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. To get a metre of snow in the Haliburton Highlands is a rare event. When it is powder that stays on every possible branch, it is pretty special.

"Ice Blue", Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, Canada. This image was taken in the winter using a zoom lens at 500mm and 1/1000 sec in order to capture every detail in the water. I was just downstream from some small waterfalls and the water was flowing very quickly. A cloud free day helped to create a very cold blue colour - perfect for that day!

"Iced Cafe Latte", Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. Ragged falls is just West of Algonquin Park and is very scenic in each season. At times, the water flow is very impressive.
