7th Hole
Bonita Springs, Florida. After a downpour the setting sun lit up this hole and highlighted spectacular colour and shadows.
The post-storm light was unlike anything I'd seen — the sun, fighting through residual cloud cover, cast dramatic shadows across the saturated landscape. Every color was intensified by rain; greens were impossibly green, shadows deep and purple, highlights burning gold.
The setting sun highlighted every contour in a way that flat daylight never could. Bunkers became sculptural elements, their wet sand catching light differently than dry. Grass heavy with rain created texture patterns adding depth. Every gentle rise and fall was accentuated by low-angle light, turning a golf hole into a study in form and shadow.
This photograph reminds me why I love landscape photography — you can never predict what conditions will give you. A sunny day might have produced a pleasant image. But storm followed by sunset produced something else, something that captures both the drama of weather and the beauty of designed landscape working together.
Limited edition Chromaluxe metal print. Recommended in ultra gloss finish to intensify post-rain saturation and shadow play. Born from the storm, bathed in golden light.
