The Crimson Peak

from $275.00

Muskoka, Ontario. Sometimes nature requires a lesson in patience.

I first came across this rustic barn in the early summer of 2025. Surrounded by the lush, heavy greens of a Muskoka June, the structure immediately caught my eye. I knew right away that it had the potential to be truly spectacular once the autumn canopy turned.

When I returned last autumn, nature had other plans  - the seasonal colours were muted and fell short of what I had envisioned. But landscape photography isn't about instant gratification: it's about persistence. This fall, I returned once more, and the gamble completely paid off.  The canopy erupted into a brilliant, fiery wall of crimson, gold, and orange, framing the weathered wood of the barn in a perfect celebration of Ontario's cottage country. It was a great reminder that we treasure the views we have to wait for.

A high gloss metal print is highly recommended for this piece to maximize the contrast and intense saturation of the autumn leaves, giving the textures an incredible depth.
