Distant Lavender Fields
Creemore, Ontario. I had the privilege of spending an evening at Fennario Meadows, which is the source for all of the lavender that goes into the many Fennario and Terre Bleu products which can be found at Terrebleu.ca. Fennario Meadows is currently not open to the public. It was a spectacular evening — with the birds and honey bees providing the background noise in this setting.
This image captures the lavender fields from a distance, emphasizing the sweeping grandeur of the landscape rather than the details of individual plants. The composition draws the eye from the foreground rows, purple and perfectly aligned, toward the horizon where the field meets a border of mature trees. There is a sense of tranquility here, of agricultural tradition meeting natural beauty.
I envision this photograph hanging in spaces that benefit from a sense of openness and calm — living rooms, bedrooms, or spa environments.
For this particular image, I recommend printing on Chromaluxe metal to capture the subtle gradations of purple and the luminous quality of that evening light. The metal surface adds depth to the distant treeline and brings out the silvery undertones of the lavender foliage.
