Algonquin Park, Ontario. Sometimes the title writes itself. Standing at the edge of this lake, with nothing but birdsong breaking the silence, the thought arrived unbidden: nature is beautiful.
A few birds calling in the distance was the only interruption. No other visitors, no motors or voices — just water, trees, sky. The stillness was so complete it felt like stepping back in time.
The lake stretched out, its surface barely disturbed, reflecting clouds and shoreline forest. Some moments need to be experienced before they can be photographed.
When I did start shooting, I kept the compositions simple. The scene didn't need complexity — it needed space to breathe, room for the eye to wander. This frame captures the feeling: the expansive stillness, the gentle light, the sense of being somewhere untouched.
