Path to Heaven
Algonquin Park, Ontario. Some trails earn their names. This one, winding along the edge of a lake in Algonquin, felt like it was leading somewhere beyond the ordinary.
I was hiking in fall, when the leaves have turned but haven't yet fallen. The trail hugged the shoreline, and as I came around a bend, the lake seemed to reflect a second sun alongside the path. The actual sun in the sky, and its twin blazing on the water's surface, with the trail running between them like an invitation.
What struck me was the doubling effect — the path drawing the eye forward, the water on one side offering that impossible second light source. The composition presented itself: the path leading forward, framed by the double light.
This is one of those images that reminds me why I keep coming back to Algonquin. The park reveals itself in moments like this, unexpected compositions that appear when you're just walking and paying attention.
Limited edition Chromaluxe metal print. Ultra gloss finish recommended to capture the radiant quality of the double light source. For those who've walked a trail and felt it leading somewhere beyond the next bend.
