Muskoka, Ontario. Overlooking Lake Muskoka, Huckleberry Rock is a perfect place for a discussion. There is perhaps no more iconic symbol of cottage country than a pair of Muskoka chairs overlooking the lake.
The chairs sat empty but somehow not lonely. They seemed to be waiting, holding space for people who would eventually settle into them with drinks in hand and stories to share.
What I love about this image is the invitation. We have all had those conversations — the ones that happen best in comfortable chairs overlooking water, when life slows and we find ourselves saying things we might never say elsewhere. The empty chairs are not empty; they are full of potential. This is the essence of cottage country.
