Streak of Light
Fort Myers, Florida. Using ICM — intentional camera movement — the setting sun becomes a sliver of light, intensity concentrated into a single bright line.
This image captures the sun at the moment of setting, using intentional camera movement to transform the bright disk into a horizontal streak. The result is pure light — no landscape detail, no context, just the essence of sunset reduced to its most basic element.
This is one of my more abstract ICM images, with less recognizable content than most. The light streak could be interpreted many ways; only warm colors suggest sunset. That abstraction is intentional — I wanted to capture the feeling of light rather than the scene.
Limited edition Chromaluxe metal print. Ultra gloss finish brings out the intensity of the light streak. Abstract photography for those who want essence over appearance.
