Bonita Springs, Florida. The dawn light turned the dew-covered grass silver on this fairway. I wanted to capture that feeling every golfer knows — standing on the tee, seeing the obstacles between you and the green.
First light painted the world in stark contrasts — white sand of the bunkers glowing, dew on every grass blade catching and scattering light into millions of tiny prisms.
The title captures what I saw and what every golfer feels when nearing the end of a challenging hole. The obstacles appear almost exaggerated in this light, their presence amplified by dramatic shadows and silver-tinged grass. Beautiful, yes. But also a little intimidating.
What I love about this photograph is its duality. On one hand, a striking landscape, the kind that makes you stop. On the other, a story every golfer understands — risk and reward, courage and caution, playing safe versus going for glory.
